Easter Greetings

Spring is in the air! My greens are beginning to sprout! *sigh* it snowed the other day, but I'm thinking positive even though today was not such a great day.... And It's FRIDAY!  I thought Friday's were supposed to be fantabulous!  Apparantly not this Friday!  Anyway!

I created my 1st ever Easter Card!  I'm amazed at how cute it turned out! As I've mentioned before, I am not the worlds greatest crafter and my creative side has gone missing.... But! If I do say so myself... not to shabby! Check it out!

Where have you been?

Seems like forever since I have blogged about my creations~ oh well, it has been forever! I really have been busy creating! I've made some layouts, a few cards and now i'm helping a friend make wedding shower invites!

My dilema now: getting my layouts online to show them to friends and family! My 12x12 layouts from our Disney trip last September are nearly completed.  I have taken a few pictures and you can see the layout but you can't see the images in the photo itself! I'm sure there is a way, I'm just not thinking clearly about it!

In my busy life of work, family and scrapping I've been thinking a lot about becoming a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! A lot of blogs that I have reviewed lately use Stampin' Up products and I just love them.  So, I have a meeting on Sunday afternoon to see if this is something that I want to do! *fingers crossed* it could be fun!

Cricut to the rescue

Have I mentioned before how much I LOVE my Cricut?  Well .... I do!  Tonight we had a 911 school emergency!!  The project my daughter was working on for the past week was eaten by the dog... the ironic part... it was a menu she had to create for Spanish class.  Thinking we were going to be up all night, we were saved not only by Cricut, but because the menu itself was saved and reprinted.  Thank you Cricut for being in our lives and quickly helping redo the school project!

Tricked Cricut~ Birthday Card

Cricut Cricut Cricut.... why you gotta be buggin' *hehe get it* me like this!?!  I am good to you I use you  a lot... (more than my elliptical and Zumba dvd's that I just had to have) and yet you pain me so!  Okay, not really... but girsh darn it.... please stop playing around with my paper!  I don't have time for your shinanagins... I have projects to create and you are making me waste valuable time!  But... today I have outsmarted you...did you notice!  Tonight I did not allow you to play tricks on me while papers were being cut... hehe... good thing I used my noggin' by using my Scrapbook Adhesive tape and stickin' it to ya!  HA!

All in all Cricut I think we did pretty good tonight makin' our first ever birthday card for my mom. I'm not a creative person, but some how I managed to pull this one off!  I used the Rock Princess Cartridge for the font and the cupcake and regular paper for everything else!  I tried to use the Calligraphy Cartridge "Happy Birthday" but... it wasn't turning out so well! Sure hope mom likes it!

Silicone Bulbs~What a mess~

Because I have this.... "No Problem, We Can Make It" atttitude, I came up with this great idea to make silicone light bulbs instead of buying them!  Great! Awesome! No problem!  So I researched many sites on the web and found a few that gave directions on how to create these masterpieces!  haha ... let me just say again... haha!  Okay, so one site says to use the silicone one way and the other site says to do  it another way and another site says to not do it either way! So confused now I decided to kinda mix and match my own way!  And yes, it worked!  Only, my tails aka the wick didn't look so hot! I was expecting this glorious outcome just by dipping my bulb into the silicone, whirl it around a bit, quickly pull out the bulb from the silicone and theennnnn violá I have a nub! haha.. yep, a nub. I had frowned and decided to try it again.  UH huh.... again this is not going very well so by the 4th bulb I became a litle bit more irritated and decided to not play nice anymore!!  I whirled the bulb around pulled it out and *sigh* same thing! ~Before I go any further I must tell you that the smell was horrific... I mean it really takes your breath away~  Moving on, my hubby walks through the kitchen, stands there and gives me so pointers, while at the same time asking me why I am making such a face.  I'm like seriously... because this smells awful.  His response "I don't smell anything" really? really Troy you smell nothing? Hmmm.... well perhaps you need to get closer.  So my sweet loving husband dips a bulb gets his whiffer a little closer to the goo and pulls away!  Laughing I simply say... "I told you so" HAHA... Together, we did end up making a few salvageable bulbs.  But it is just the begining of trial and error.  I haven't given up, but I had to move on to yet another "project"!

Cricut: Bittersweet

After months of researching the Cricut, I finally realized this little machine was something that could help me with my scrapbooking. Watching onlinee video tutorials I realized this was something that I needed and I wanted it.  Sooo, I finally bought one.  Cricut was delivered to our home last Tuesday afternoon so I ran home on my lunch opened the box, looked inside, grabbed all the goods and set it on the table!  I realized that I was not going to be able to create a cute little something in the 40 minutes that I had left so I put it all back in the box and headed to work.  That night when I got home though, I was ready to go!!  HA ha.... well after watching the video tutorial and the paper sticking to the mat and the paper ripping from the sticky mat and my letters ripping because they were too small I realized that this was not going to be an easy task yet again! So I sigh determined to not let my Cricut get the best of me.

Minutes later the phone rings and it is my California family calling... little did I know my cousin's wife owns a Cricut too!  She was nothing but encouring and gave me a few pointers over the phone!  *Thanks Breanna* I didn't give up and decided to give it a go once again!  I cut some letters using different fonts and sizes. Okay, not too bad.  With my lucky stride I decided to make some words for my Disney Scrapbook.  Yay! I Did it~!  Not to bad!  Not the look or the color that I wanted, but it works and I will stick with it!

So even though my Cricut can be ~at times~ temperamental I love my Cricut and I am so far pleased with my results!
