Silicone Bulbs~What a mess~

Because I have this.... "No Problem, We Can Make It" atttitude, I came up with this great idea to make silicone light bulbs instead of buying them!  Great! Awesome! No problem!  So I researched many sites on the web and found a few that gave directions on how to create these masterpieces!  haha ... let me just say again... haha!  Okay, so one site says to use the silicone one way and the other site says to do  it another way and another site says to not do it either way! So confused now I decided to kinda mix and match my own way!  And yes, it worked!  Only, my tails aka the wick didn't look so hot! I was expecting this glorious outcome just by dipping my bulb into the silicone, whirl it around a bit, quickly pull out the bulb from the silicone and theennnnn violá I have a nub! haha.. yep, a nub. I had frowned and decided to try it again.  UH huh.... again this is not going very well so by the 4th bulb I became a litle bit more irritated and decided to not play nice anymore!!  I whirled the bulb around pulled it out and *sigh* same thing! ~Before I go any further I must tell you that the smell was horrific... I mean it really takes your breath away~  Moving on, my hubby walks through the kitchen, stands there and gives me so pointers, while at the same time asking me why I am making such a face.  I'm like seriously... because this smells awful.  His response "I don't smell anything" really? really Troy you smell nothing? Hmmm.... well perhaps you need to get closer.  So my sweet loving husband dips a bulb gets his whiffer a little closer to the goo and pulls away!  Laughing I simply say... "I told you so" HAHA... Together, we did end up making a few salvageable bulbs.  But it is just the begining of trial and error.  I haven't given up, but I had to move on to yet another "project"!

Cricut: Bittersweet

After months of researching the Cricut, I finally realized this little machine was something that could help me with my scrapbooking. Watching onlinee video tutorials I realized this was something that I needed and I wanted it.  Sooo, I finally bought one.  Cricut was delivered to our home last Tuesday afternoon so I ran home on my lunch opened the box, looked inside, grabbed all the goods and set it on the table!  I realized that I was not going to be able to create a cute little something in the 40 minutes that I had left so I put it all back in the box and headed to work.  That night when I got home though, I was ready to go!!  HA ha.... well after watching the video tutorial and the paper sticking to the mat and the paper ripping from the sticky mat and my letters ripping because they were too small I realized that this was not going to be an easy task yet again! So I sigh determined to not let my Cricut get the best of me.

Minutes later the phone rings and it is my California family calling... little did I know my cousin's wife owns a Cricut too!  She was nothing but encouring and gave me a few pointers over the phone!  *Thanks Breanna* I didn't give up and decided to give it a go once again!  I cut some letters using different fonts and sizes. Okay, not too bad.  With my lucky stride I decided to make some words for my Disney Scrapbook.  Yay! I Did it~!  Not to bad!  Not the look or the color that I wanted, but it works and I will stick with it!

So even though my Cricut can be ~at times~ temperamental I love my Cricut and I am so far pleased with my results!
